Official NCAC Softball Rules

  1.   Games will be 7 innings

  2.   Two officials for each game - may be staff or parents

  3.   There must be a minimum of 3 girls in a game at all times

  4.   Slow Pitch - 12 inch softball; arc must be between 6 and 12 feet (no medium or fast pitch)

  5.   Bases 65 feet apart

  6.   Catcher must wear a catcher's mask

  7.   No metal spikes; softball bats only; (can be wooden or metal)

  8.   After 5 innings played the 15 run rule will be in effect

  9.   Ten players on field with 4 players in the outfield

10.   Pitching distance should be 46 feet

11.   Slow pitch rules - no stealing.  Runner can only run after ball is batted into play

12.   Mat to be used for balls and strikes.  A strike is anything on the plate or mat

13.   Helmets must be worn by all batters and base runners

14.   No sliding - automatic out

15.   No intentional walks

16.   You may bat around no more  than once an inning

17.   Uniform jerseys with at least a number required
