January 3

 

LOWVILLE — New Life Christian School earned a hard-fought 49-46 win over the Lowville Hawks.  NLCS built an early 14-point lead and then held on for the 3-point victory after seeing its two top scorers for the season, Paul Brown and Philip Dickerson, both foul out in the fourth quarter.  Before fouling out, Brown led the way with 19 points and 22 rebounds.  First-year player Foster Evans added a career-high 13 points on 6-for-6 shooting along with 10 rebounds for NLCS.  In his first action of the season, NLCS’s Jacob Houseman posted a solid all-around effort including 7 steals.  Lowville’s leading scorers in the near-comeback effort were Pat Harney with 17 and Dean Oakes with 16.

Valley School in Lowville.
