Game Summary:  The Mohawk Valley Christian Academy Eagles jumped out to an early 22-4 first quarter lead Tuesday night on their way to defeating Faith Fellowship Christian School 51-34.  David Purpura led a balanced scoring attack for the Eagles who improved to 2-0 for the season.  FFCS Center Michael Tweedy found himself in early foul trouble for the Flames but came out in the second half to score all of his game high 16 points in a losing effort.  The Eagles will play at home Thursday vs. Holy Cross.

Game Notes:  Lissa Keiper got the Lady Eagles off to a good start Tuesday night scoring 8 of her game high 14 points in the first period against visiting Faith Fellowship Christian School.   Keiper also held the Flames Rachel Desormo to 7 points to lead the Eagles to their first league victory 36-13.  Jena Allen added 10 points for the Ealges while Freshman Mikayla Wintermute had her personal best 12 points for the game.

EATON — New Life Christian School won its home opener 50-36 over Faith Fellowship.  This was the second win in a row for NLCS and its first conference victory.  Philip Dickerson led NLCS with 21 points, 6 assists and 6 steals, while Paul Brown scored 19 and contributed 17 rebounds.  Brown and Jesse Chandler each had 4 blocked shots. Faith Fellowship’s leading scorer was Michael Tweedy with 15.

GIRLS

Eaton - New Life Christian School Girls won their second straight game

with a 30 to 17 victory over Faith Fellowship.  NLCS was led by a solid overall

performance by Lauren Houseman who had 7 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists.  Morgan O'Herien and Lizzie Houseman also scored their first points of the year as part of a

balanced scoring effort.
